"He is a Fool"

In A Raisin in the Sun, Mama refers to Booker T. Washington and George Murchison as "fools". She says this when Johnson says "I always think like Booker T. Washington-"Education has spoilt many a good plow a hand'", and then calls them fools.

I think Mama calls Booker T. Washington a fool because his speech states that education is not necessary and spoilt many blacks. I also think that Mama might say this because she thinks Booker T. Washington and George Murchison are fools as in people who would rather be stuck up and abandon their religions. Mama must have thought that George is a fool as well because she says "...better not waste time with no fools" and I think she says that because George is ashamed of his religion and rather study at school.

George Murchison and Booker T. Washington are both similar because they both think that education makes people spoilt and George thinks being spoilt means being accepted by the whites, while Booker T. is saying that it is not necessary.
